Meet the Owner: Michelle Wickens

Hi, my name is Michelle, I am a qualified primary school teacher, a wife and a mother of 3 teenagers all attending high school.

I have been working in the education industry for over 20 years in various capacities as a primary teacher, early childhood teacher, director of child care centres, and manager of a Literacy Centre.

My family moved to the beautiful Gold Coast 5 years ago to provide greater opportunities for our children. I took this opportunity to re-asses the direction my life should take. I decided to strike a balance and work part time as a teacher’s aide and to study part time. On completing my Graduate Certificate in Information Studies I knew it was time to get back to what I excel in, teaching children. As the new owner manager of NumberWorks’nWords Chevron Island I will be passionate in supporting every child to reach their full potential.

Outside of NumberWorks'nWords, I enjoy swimming, bike riding, Pilates, meditation, theatre and am an avid reader. I have volunteered in many areas including Volunteer Coastal Patrol, P&C, School Councils and Schoolies supervision in 2015.
